Providing Holistic Support For New Australians and Other Least Advantaged Australians.
Welcome to the ARMIA House.
We are committed to supporting New Australians after their first five years of settlement in Australia. We help to promote socio-economic participation and combat social isolation.
Our Mission is to empower mostly but not limited to New Australians i.e. those refugees and migrants who no longer are part of the Australian Government’s settlement program to be part of the workforce or business community to proudly take their place as acknowledged and valued members of Australian society.
This is done as a Multicultural Family Support Hub in SE Queensland, through a Holistic Approach. We are symbolically a “Tree” welcoming any “birds” with any needs at any time i.e. a drop-in centre and bridge between New Australians, the Government and other services providers and stakeholders.
Free information sessions are organised on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, physical and mental health, education and employment, parenting, legal aid, citizenship, housing, domestic violence, alcohol and drug addictions, youth crime and radicalisation, NDIS, and peaceful conflict resolution. We provide interpreters and information materials translated to other languages, when necessary. Several practical activities are also regularly organised to empower the community we serve. We also assist least advantaged mainstream and Indigenous persons,- another practical way to promote rapid integration and multicultural interactions. Read More
